Conference on Romani Racialization

The Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic has issued a call for papers in connection with an upcoming conference titled "Roma Racialization beyond Majority-Minority Narratives: Transnationalism, Activism, and Solidarity". The conference aims to "develop an alternative view and explore the social position of the Romani people, the character of anti-Romani stereotypes and Romani agency as related to other ethno-racial projects and broader global processes."

The conference will take place on 21-23 May 2025 in Prague and will include panel discussions, as well as a roundtable open to the public. The conference is open to scholars, researchers, and activists from all disciplines. Those interested in applying should submit a proposal and CV by 30 November 2024.
