Call for Papers: Challenges and the Future of Minority and Indigenous Rights Protection

The University of Sterling has issued a call for papers on the theme of “Challenges and the Future of Minority and Indigenous Rights Protection” in conjunction with a two-day conference to be held on this theme on 3-7 March 2025. The conference aims to assess the contributions and challenges of various international legal instruments in relation to the protection of minority and indigenous communities. It seeks to reflect on the rights of these groups and rethink and recommit to their protection. The conference will foster dialogue among academics, practitioners, and members of minority and indigenous communities.

The conference organizers are soliciting abstracts relevant to the theme, and the following (non-exhaustive) list of topic areas: self-determination, land rights, economic, social and cultural rights, civil and political rights, governance, artificial intelligence, data sovereignty, traditional knowledge cultural heritage, and citizenship.
